Environmental Statement

Redbourn Community Group (RCG) recognises the importance of climate change and is committed to being an environmentally responsible organisation, understanding that this is an ongoing and continuous process.  We will seek to reduce the amount of energy and other resources we consume and will work with our volunteers, clients, landlord and those with whom we partner, to achieve this in our local community.

Our stated aims are to:

  • Ensure our next minibus has a reduced environmental impact
  • Continuously improve our environmental performance particularly with regards to our recycling and re-use of paper
  • Where possible use recycled or ecologically friendly paper
  • Reduce our consumption of resources and improve the efficiency of those resources by minimising printing and using double-sided where practicable
  • Manage waste and energy in our operations according to the principles of reduction, re-use and recycling
  • Recycle all paper products, ink or toner cartridges, stamps etc where possible and keep up to date with recycling facilities
  • Minimise use of energy in village hall office, e.g. heating, lighting
  • Engage local service providers for events, reducing carbon footprint e.g. for catering
  • Record statistical information on minibus mileage, fuel usage, paper consumption to track progress
  • Comply as a minimum with all relevant environmental legislation as well as other environmental requirements.

This Environmental Policy Statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. The Trustees endorse these policy statements and are fully committed to their implementation.
