Our Trustees
Treasurer – Alan Mason
Alan moved to Redbourn from Shenley in 2021. Now retired, he is a qualified actuary and spent his whole career in the insurance industry in a variety of leadership roles, including as a Chief Risk Officer. He has also been a management consultant and has worked for the financial services regulator. He currently volunteers at a charity shop in St Albans and for the Harpenden Trust. He loves sport, particularly cricket, and enjoys theatre, eating out and trying to keep himself fit.
Chair – Edward Wheen
Edward and his wife moved to Redbourn, from Harpenden, in 2020. He is an employment solicitor who, as his retirement approached, volunteered as an RCG driver and has since become a trustee. His hobbies include golf, cycling and watching cricket.
Trustee – Simone Deans
Simone moved from Harpenden to Redbourn in 1994 with the intention of moving back, but fell in love with Redbourn and hopes never to leave. Having originally qualified as a solicitor, she has worked in the not-for-profit sector for most of her working life. When raising a young family, Simone started volunteering in the charity sector, including Oxfam, Citizens Advice and more local projects. She currently works for a local charity and enjoys travel, paddle boarding and walking her two dogs in the Hertfordshire countryside.
Trustee – James Regan
James has lived in Redbourn for a couple of years now, having moved from Norfolk to be with his partner
He is very interested in social media, particularly in fostering online communities, which is the focus of his new job; he also has a passion for miniature painting.
Trustee – Sue Hill
Sue has lived in Redbourn for 45 years and has enjoyed bringing up her family in the village community. Since retiring from teaching she has been a volunteer courier with the Community Group and more recently with the friendly walks and talks initiative. She also volunteered with the NSPCC, presenting their safeguarding programme to primary school children in Hertfordshire. Her interests include singing in a choir, walking, literature, gardening and bridge.
Safeguarding – Ailsa Hulme
Ailsa has recently joined as a Trustee with responsibility for Safeguarding. Ailsa retired from a Management role in the Primary Sector of Education. As Area Manager for the Out of School Provision for five schools, she was a Designated Safeguarding Lead as well as HR and planning. She is a Lay Leader of Worship at St Marys Redbourn where she organises the Holiday Club and is on the Pastoral Care Team. Ailsa enjoys being a Nanny to 6 grandchildren as well as reading , theatre and travel.
Trustee – Wendy Bloisi
Wendy has lived in Redbourn since 1997. During that time, she has volunteered for several charities and is currently a parish councillor. She also volunteers as a minibus driver for the Redbourn Community Group.
Wendy works as a freelance academic consultant and author, having spent several years teaching and researching in universities, with specialisms in management and HR. Her interests include rugby, travelling, and motorbike adventures.
