Redbourn Classics Event Setup
There are a number of things which we need to complete in order to provide a well organised and safe event. In order to help you assess which task you would like to help with, we have included some more details below.
Install fencing on The Common exhibit and parking areas (Friday evening)
The stakes and mesh fencing will be collected from the Parish Storeroom (near the Methodist Church) by another team and placed in bundles around The Common. Groups of volunteers will be needed to hammer in the stakes (using mallets – please supply your own if possible) and then attach the mesh fencing to enclose the common area for the event. Maps will be provided to show where the fencing needs to go, including spaces for the Pedestrian & Exhibitors Entrances. Classics Committee Members will be on hand to direct & help you place the fencing in the correct locations. As well as the main common, the same will happen at allocated visitor areas, and the area in front of the Redbourn Museum. Families can help, along with strong mallet users, as we need many hands to get it all done as quickly as possible. There is lots of unrolling of mesh fencing.
Signage (Saturday Morning)
We need to put up additional signage around the immediate Common area to direct exhibitor and visitors’ cars to their allocated parking. This involves using tie wraps to attach laminated signs to various sites. We supply the tie wraps and signs, as well as maps for locations. Clear guidance will be given. No ladders required.
Furniture & gazebos collection (Saturday Morning)
A team is required to meet at St Mary’s Church Hall to collect the four gazebos and furniture (tables/chairs) and load them for transport to The Common. This will involve lifting and carrying of the equipment onto our flatbed truck for transportation. Once on the common, the equipment will need to be placed where required.
Furniture & gazebos setup (Saturday Morning)
We need to erect the gazebos which will be delivered to The Common. Help will also be required to erect the Control Tent. Committee Members will advise on placement locations. Young adults could help out here.
Guide Stallholders (Saturday Morning)
Stallholders will set up from 9AM. We need volunteers to guide them into their designated location(s) on The Common. Maps will be provided. Adults only as cars and trailers will be mobile.
If you are able to help with the event setup, please sign up here and let us know when you’re available.
